Is Your Company Using Social Media to Support Or Spam?
With online media being the “new media” and Social Media Marketing companies showing up more and more, it is very important to learn if you should be utilizing your social media marketing marketing campaign in the right way.
Social Media Marketing isn’t spam marketing, though it seems many today took the all out blitz approach. 10 posts a day in forum or another stating you have the most effective product or how great your company is.
The purpose of a online media campaign would be to engage in a discussion with your customers, befriend them, teach them, and let them have knowledge in your particular niche Goth Egg. You wish to become a trusted friend and advisor to the community you are building.
A great example of this can be a colleague of mine, Erika Rich AKA WebErika, she uses her blog to inform her community of changes in technology and social media. She does not send out 15 Facebook posts a day about how she is a superb online media marketer, nor does she tweet it, or broadcast because manner in any other fashion. She simply informs her community and engages in a discussion with them. She gives them the data they must be successful using their social media.
As people read more and more of her “free” information time and time again, they build a trust with her, and then they put two and two together and contact her about their Social Media needs. They go to her because she was confident enough to give them information, because she IS the expert, so as it pertains time and energy to beef up the Social Media campaign they contact her. This is the way social media marketing works.
The quickest way to have unfanned or today unliked would be to spam individuals with the exact same boring sales pitch about your company time and time again. It is of utter importance to talk about meaningful information along with your community, and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
That’s right, concerns. Believe it or not, as much as it could be great, not everyone has had a great experience along with your particular company. What better way to discover, provide feedback, and fix the issue, than to have open “two way” communication along with your community.
That is the objective of Social Media Marketing as simply as I can put it. When you have the objective in sight, it must be much more straightforward to implement the proper campaign and meet that objective.
As always I enjoy your comments and questions.
